Undoubtedly, one of the most significant and interesting saints in Orthodox Christian history is our venerable and God-bearing Father Paisios of Mount Athos. People from all over the world visited the Monk and asked him about global events that were to come and the future. Elder Paisios (July 25, 1924 - July 12, 1994), whose name was Arsenios Eznepidis, was born in the city of Farasa in Cappadocia, Asia Minor, just before the peoples were transferred between Greece and Turkey after the Greco-Turkish War of 1919-1922. After his baptism, his family was expelled from Farasa in Cappadocia and took the road to Greece, where they settled in Konitsa, Epirus, in northwestern Greece.
After World War II, Greece found itself in a civil war, and Arsenios (Paisios) became a radio speaker, and reports from then show how anxious Paisios was for his compatriots who had families, while his anxiety for himself was zero since he had neither a wife nor children. He was distinguished for his generosity, compassion, and self-sacrifice.
However, after the civil war, Paisios wanted to enter a monastic life, after ensuring that his two unmarried sisters would have what they needed before he entered his spiritual life. By 1950, he had taken care of his sisters' future and decided to start his monastic life.
In 1950, he entered Mount Athos and practiced there for 4 years as a novice monk and became a monk in 1954 and was named Averkios. Monk Averkios was considered very conscientious in all his duties, including assisting his brothers. While others worked, he would never stop even when he had finished his duties.
In 1956, he moved to a different monastery and there he received the name Paisios. Father Paisios pondered his own spiritual failures and those of the world at that time, and believed that it was the lack of love that plagued the cities and villages of Greece and the world.
In 1958, Elder Paisios was asked to spend time in his village to support the local faithful against the Protestants. Elder Paisios helped many people in and around the villages, not only through his spiritual strength but also managed to feed many of the poorest people by selling handmade wooden objects.
Later in life, he suffered from many health problems, but even when he felt the most pain and weakness, he would always find time to listen to the problems and sorrows of his visitors, spending most of his time in prayer with very little rest. Even after being hospitalized due to lung problems and diagnosed with cancer, he managed to find the strength to listen to the sorrows and thoughts of his visitors.
On July 11, 1994, he received Holy Communion for the last time, and the next day he surrendered his soul to God. He was buried according to his wishes, at the Monastery of St. John the Theologian in Souroti.

The Principle of the EU's Destruction.
A lesser known but definitely known prophecy that Father Paisios made was the destruction of the EU and that it would start in the U.K. He also said that the EU would be destroyed by the British and Americans because they are one nation.
It would not last many years, he said. "It will be destroyed by the British and the Americans because they are one nation and they work together. They say, what's going on here? Is Hitler being born again? And so they're going to break it up."
As we have recently seen Our venerable and God-bearing Father Paisios the Athonite was right 30 years ago when he made this statement. We see that the UK is leaving the EU probably without any agreement and with it billions of pounds are leaving and so other countries will follow. The US is also hoping for the destruction of the EU as they see it as the United States of Europe, with the socialist agenda that the EU has been pushing for so many years and which the US is not happy with, especially now with President Trump. Simply put, Europe is gaining too much power for the tastes of the US!
The Destruction of Turkey - World War 3
Perhaps the most important prophecies for the Greek people is the coming war with Turkey, however this prophecy is for the whole world because as we know things will escalate and World War 3 will be triggered. In simple words, Turkey will attack Greece, Greece will try to defend itself but will not succeed as the Turks are very well armed by Europe and the USA.
Even as I write, the Germans are selling new submarines to the Turks. That's right, the Germans are selling a non-European country weapons that the Turks intend to use against the Greeks, a European people and that leaves a bitter taste in the mouth! What will follow is that Russia, which sees a vested interest in all this and based on its Orthodox Christian roots, will attack Turkey with nuclear weapons and wipe Turkey off the map.
As you saw in the first prophecy the break up of the EU would start with the UK, with the UK leaving the EU, but then the real disaster would come from the Europeans when they get involved with each other again in a world war, most of them attacking Russia, as Russia moves into the Middle East from Turkey. Father Paisios has said that an Angel will come down and sing and this will cause the Europeans to kill Europeans and they will continue to kill each other until the Angel stops singing. Those who are left after the war will return to their homes. During this conflict many Russians will be killed, but that will not stop the Russians from going on.
Greece even though it has been attacked by Turkey will come out of the war in good shape, very few will die, there may be feeding problems for the Greek people, however Father Paisios has also warned the Greeks to secure a garden and within that garden grow as much food as they can not only for themselves but for their neighbors, many Greeks have a garden and grow vegetables, as I do.
For Greece: Great gifts will be given to the Greeks by God, because they are Orthodox Christians. They will get back their beloved Hagia Sophia, which is to Roman Catholics what Vatican City and St. Peter's Basilica are to Roman Catholics. Only recently the Turks converted this Orthodox Christian church into a mosque, upsetting not only the Greeks but also the entire Orthodox Christian people, Russia, of course Europe and the United Nations remained silent about it.
Turkey as a country will be finished, cut into parts and given back to the right peoples, the neighbouring countries. Russia will turn its eyes to Israel and then there will be a war with the UK and the US taking part.
You don't think that will happen? Sorry, but they are already happening and Father Paisios warned people that the day a Turkish ship enters Greek waters will be the beginning and soon afterwards the Turks will attack the Greeks.
Then World War 3!
St. Paisios also warned us that when Greece changes its water boundary from 6 nautical miles to 12, soon after that war will start.
